Filthy….edgy….just plain dope…..call it what you will, krew clothing has definitely established itself as one of the hottest brands in America. From its inception less than 10 years ago, Krew (or Kr3w) has consistently set the standard in innovative streetwear design. It has quickly emerged Krew Clothing as the leading fashion brand in the skateboard apparel industry. Kr3w apparel is primarily designed for skateboarders.

However, there is no denying the tremendous cross over appeal of krew clothing. It has carved out a massive following for itself, and is the brand of choice for most urban youth. Kr3w has been successful in translating the expression and communication of the skateboarder into a unique design style. Today, there is no doubt that Kr3w apparel has tremendous mainstream appeal, without having lost out on its core market of skateboarders.

K3RW – The Origins

The company was created by Angel Cabada in 2002, in Costa Mesa, California. His goal was to establish a clothing company that specialized in the production of skateboarder apparel and streetwear. Over time, Kr3w has expanded exponentially due to the great commercial success it has experienced. But, the integrity and the design philosophy of the company have never changed, and it has remained true to its skateboarding roots. In 2006, the krew clothing brand was expanded, when Angel Cabada launched a new range of sneakers. These were marketed under the brand name ‘SUPRA’.

As a skater himself, Angel has maintained the authenticity and relevance of the brand. Kr3w continues to set the benchmark for other streetwear and skateboard apparel companies. But, whatever innovations are made to the company, the core concept of the company remains the same. Kr3w essentially makes its gear for skaters, which are designed by skaters.

DESIGNED BY SKATEBOARDERS – OR SKATEBOARDERS

The essence of krew clothing is its commitment to design integrity and functionality. The entire range has been designed for skateboarders, by skateboarders.  Products are designed by a team that includes professional skateboarders and musicians such as Erik Ellington, Chad Muska, Tom Penny, Jim Greco, and Terry Kennedy, to name just a few. Designs are edgy, functional, with a strong element of punk thrown in. The presence of such skateboarding icons has given the brand an edge over its competitors and ensures that Kr3w retains the loyalty of its customer base. Most young skaters have grown up idolizing and respecting these pro skateboarders, which only serves to enhance the desirability of the Kr3w brand.

Kr3w retails about 30 different jeans styles in diverse washes and finishes, denim fits that range from skinny to super baggy. These include signature styles of Erik Ellington, Jim Greco, Chad Krew Clothing Muska and other sponsored skaters. Over time, the product range has been expanded to include jackets, shorts, board shorts, tanks and flannels. Kr3w also manufactures a wide range of accessories such as watches, hats, skarfs, gloves, belts, wallets, necklaces, bracelets, rings, pendants, back packs, hoodies and beanies. Other Kr3w branded products include ashtrays and money clips.

From its smoking hot designs, to its independent philosophies, krew clothing is here to lead the way.
